Part of the worldwide phenomenon, the Hash House Harriers originally started by British expats in pre-war Kuala Lumpur, and spread throughout the globe as a genuinely international pastime with tens of thousands of active participants.
While each club differs due to local conditions and customs, the common culture of each club can be summarised by this section of the “constitution” of the KL club written c. 1950:
• to promote physical fitness among our members
• to get rid of weekend hangovers
• to acquire a good thirst and to satisfy it in beer
• to persuade the older members that they are not as old as they feel

We’re as fun as we look!In the Riviera Hash, who meet every other Sunday, wine and water are as popular as beer for refreshment but the emphasis is firmly set as a sociable gathering. It’s a perfect way to discover more of the Riviera, enjoy a healthy walk or run and to meet up with people with many years experience of living in France.
Riviera Hash House Harriers 25th Anniversary Celebration, open to non-members as well as members old and new, is on Sat March 16th 2013 (run in Mandelieu, cocktails and dinner, with a disco, supplied by Mark Dezzani) and Sun March 17th 2013 (11am St Patricks Day Recovery Run).
